Who we are

GeoTaxi runs this site, geotaxi.us, and is responsible for the information you give it. “We” and “us” below mean GeoTaxi. This policy is about riders and visitors to this site.

What we collect

When you request a ride

• Your name and mobile number, and your email address if you give one.
• The trip: pickup and drop-off addresses, any stops, the date and time, the vehicle, the number of passengers, luggage, and any waiting time.
• What you add for dispatch and the driver: an apartment or gate code, a flight number on an airport trip, a note, a child seat request or a lady-driver request, and whether your phone can get texts.
• The price and distance our system works out for the trip, and your booking reference.

A day trip request has the same contact details, with the pickup address, date, vehicle, number of passengers and your note.

If you create an account

Your name, email address and, if you give it, your phone number; your password, stored only as a one-way hash, never as you typed it; the addresses you save; and the rides you book while signed in. If you use “Continue with Google”, Google gives us your name, email address and Google account ID, and there is no password.

If you rate a ride

Your stars, your comment and, if you give one, a private rating of your driver. Your comment may appear on this site with your first name only, after the company approves it. Your rating of the driver is never published.

When you use the site

To stop abuse, our server keeps your IP address in its memory, for about a day after your last request, to limit how often forms can be sent. It is not saved with your booking. The server's log records errors; we keep names, addresses and messages out of it where we can.

Why we use it

• To arrange your ride: price it, pass it to a driver, and confirm it with you.
• To contact you about your ride: by phone and by email.
• To keep the company's records of rides, fares and what each driver is owed.
• To answer you when you contact us, and to protect the site from abuse.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who receives it

• The company's dispatchers, who arrange your ride.
• Drivers. A driver offered your ride sees the trip (the places, the time, the passengers) and what they would earn, not your name or number. The driver who takes it also sees your name, number, codes and notes, to pick you up.
• Services that run parts of this site for us. Each is listed only while this site uses it, and handles your information under its own privacy policy:
  • Resend sends our emails: your email address and the email itself (your ride, its price and reference).
  • Telegram carries the company's dispatch chat, and ride offers to drivers who use it: your ride, and your name and number to the dispatchers and to the driver who takes the ride.
  • Google Calendar holds the company's ride calendar: each ride dispatch approves, with your name, number, email, addresses and notes.
  • Google sign-in only if you choose "Continue with Google": Google tells us your name, your email address and your Google account ID.
  • openrouteservice (HeiGIT) works out road distances for prices: the addresses and map points of your trip, without your name or number.
  • The U.S. Census Bureau geocoder and Photon (komoot) suggest addresses while you type: the text typed into an address box, sent from our server, without your name or number.
  • Google Maps shows the map on our home page. Your browser loads it directly, so the provider sees your IP address and may set its own cookies.
  • Google Analytics counts visits to this site: the pages you view, your browser and device, and an approximate location from your IP address. It sets its own cookies.
• Anyone the law requires us to give it to, such as under a court order.

Text messages

This site sends no text messages at the moment.

Cookies and your browser's storage

This site sets no advertising cookies. Its own cookies only keep people signed in:

• ht_user keeps you signed in to your account, for up to 30 days or until you sign out.
• g_state protects Google sign-in, for 10 minutes.
• ht_session keeps the company's staff signed in to the admin panel. Riders never get it.

Google Maps and Google Analytics, named above, may set their own cookies.

“Remember me on this phone.” When you book with it ticked (it is, unless you untick it), your name, number, email, whether your phone can get texts, your recent places and your last trip (with its apartment or gate code and any lady-driver request) are saved in this browser's local storage, so the form can fill them in next time. That copy stays on your phone until you tap “Forget me” or clear the browser's data, and it holds no dates, times, flight numbers or notes. What you are filling in is kept in this browser tab's own storage until you close the tab.

How long we keep it

• Bookings are kept for the company's records. The site deletes none of them by itself: archiving a booking in the admin panel only hides it from the list, and hiding a ride in your account only hides it from you.
• Your account and saved addresses stay until you ask us to delete them. You can remove a saved address yourself.
• A text or email we hold back to send later is kept until it goes out, and deleted 30 days after it was written.
• Copies of the site's database are also kept in the company's backups for a limited time.

To see, correct or delete your information, contact us (below). We may need to keep some booking records for the company's accounts or because the law requires it.

Security

Account passwords are stored only as a one-way hash, and the admin panel needs a password. The site is served over HTTPS. No site is perfectly secure: if you think your information has been misused, tell us.

Children

This site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us.

Changes to this policy

Parts of this page follow the site's settings: when a service is added or removed, the list above changes with it. The wording last changed on September 27, 2026.
